Maverick, a guitar prodigy from the Bay Area, was born in the Summer of ’69 on a hippie commune just outside of Ukiah.  His parents, Redwood and Sunburst, frequently attended the loudest rock concerts in recorded history, even while young Mav was still in utero.  Needless to say, Maverick was born to rock.

A precocious youngster, Maverick wore a path to the principal’s office at each of the many schools he attended, for inciting mayhem at every grade level.  Maverick’s future was dim indeed… until the fateful night he attended his first Van Halen show.

When the impressionable Maverick witnessed the heavy (yet melodic) thunder emanating from the stage that evening, the proverbial musical syzygy (look it up) occurred.  He knew right then that, not only was he born to rock - he was ready.

And so, as you observe Maverick melting the neck of yet another hapless guitar with his furious playing, think back to his parental hippies Redwood and Sunburst, and reflect on the ironic fact that they sacrificed their hearing…. for your listening pleasure.
